Uses:
AS GRINDING & DISPERSING MEDIUM : Glass Beads are replacing the WET conventional grinding media : Ottawa Sand, Ceramic Balls, Steel Balls, Pebbles etc., as Grinding & Dispersing medium in Sand Mills, Ball Mills, Pot Mills, Attrition Mills etc.
These Beads will be of interest to the following Industries :
- Paints
- Pigments
- Ink & Printing Inks
- Dyes
- Chemicals
- Cosmetics
- Gums and Waxes etc
As Shot Blasting Medium :
Blasting with Glass Beads under pressure with Blasting Equipment maintains close control over all foreign matters down to the base metal without dimensional change, without contamination and without overstressing. It produces a consistent metallurgical clean surface finish. Conventional Blasting Materials such as Aluminium Oxide, Sand, Steel Shots will either leave a Chemical Film on the blasted surface or have cutting action. Shot Blasting with the Glass Beads completely prepares metal surface for any type of coating on it such as painting, plating enameling or glass lining. Here are some of the application.
There are two methods for shot Blasting:
- Wet Shot Blasting
- Dry Blasting
Other Industrial And Scientific Uses :
- As a Coolant for Transformer
- As an even Distributor Of Temparature in Fluidised Beds
- As a Filtering Medium
- As a Tool in Research
